Synopsis:
Cath and Wren are identical twins, and until recently they did absolutely everything together. Now they’re off to university and Wren’s decided she doesn’t want to be one half of a pair any more – she wants to dance, meet boys, go to parties and let loose. It’s not so easy for Cath. She would rather bury herself in the fanfiction she writes where there’s romance far more intense than anything she’s experienced in real life.
Now Cath has to decide whether she’s ready to open her heart to new people and new experiences, and she’s realizing that there’s more to learn about love than she ever thought possible.
MY THOUGHTS
(SPOILERS AHEAD)
I knew almost nothing about the book. Just that it was really amazing. And I really loved this book. I related so much to this story. I’m basically Cath. And I live in a small town. This book was so cute and lovely. Although, some parts were a little confusing because I pictured this book a little different in my head and then something completely different happened. But not to worry. I still LOVED it.
Cath is so cool. I love her. I relate so much. She’s such a great character. I love how she loves Simon Snow. Her fanfiction was so fun to read. I’m going to read Carry On very soon. Cath’s such a complex character. She’s inspired me to write more. I didn’t understand why she wanted to go back home after the first semester. I thought she was okay. I’m glad her dad said she shouldn’t come back. And he’s bipolar. I’ve never read about a bipolar character before. It was very interesting.
Levi, well he grew on me. At first, I wasn’t really feeling it, but later on I really enjoyed his character. I love his personality. I do have a question for him: why didn’t you say sooner that you weren’t dating Regan or at least why didn’t Regan say anythng?? I eventually fell for him. I found it so funny how he was always happy and smiling. And as I said earlier I was confused, I thought Levi and Regan were dating so I didn’t understand why Cath and Levi were so close (especially the first time they were reading her fanfiction). I was so scared that something was going to happen to Cath and Regan’s relationship if she found out Levi was cheating on her.But then they weren’t even dating. That had me confused. But it’s all good. I was relieved. I did really love how Levi liked hearing Cath’s fanfiction and that he didn’t find it weird and odd, like some would. He’s so cute. His reactions to some of the parts were hilarious.
We all need a Regan. I love how she and Cath became friends and kind of understood each other. She’s great.
I do not like Cath’s mother. I didn’t like Wren for a while either but I got over that. Laura just angers me. You leave your family and tell them you need time, then suddenly, like 10 years later, pitch up with a new family and expect to win them back over. And then she left the hospital. I was mad and felt terrible for Cath. I don’t know about Wren. She was a bit annoying at the beginning. She kind of just disappeared from Cath’s life and rebelled a little too much. She was a little stupid to say the least. Nick just frustrated me. He had the nerve to basically steal Cath’s work. She made his work good. So you go, Cath and tell him NO. He deserved not to get that prize. It’s not his book, it’s theirs.
I really enjoyed the book. I like how she finished her short story. I love how she and Levi were reading the last book together. I love how it ended. I wish there’d be more but I am totally okay with the ending. I really loved this book and related SO HARD to LITERALLY EVERYTHING. What did you think of this book? Have you read it?
