MARCH RECAP // studying, holidays & binge reading
Where did March go? This year is going too fast!
This month has been good. As you can see by the title, I did lots of studying and my grades were wayyyyy better than I expected. Like REALLY good and I’m proud of myself. We’re also on Easter break and I’ve been reading a heck load and bombarding ya’ll with reviews.
Okay, I read 5 books and 3 novellas (!!). And Goodreads tells me I’m 5 books ahead of schedule. Don’t ask me how I read more in one month when I also had to study how I read more than Jan & Feb combined. None of the books I read have a rating lower than 4 stars so I consider this a very successful month.
– Opal by Maggie Stiefvater {★★★★★}: SO. GOOD. I am starved of this world and I need more. A novella isn’t enough!! (review here)
– City of Bones by Cassandra Clare {★★★★★}: Of course it was amazing and I will forever gush and be nostalgic about this series. I read it with Lu which was also really fun (review here)
– Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi {★★★★☆}: As you can see I binged these and had a string of emotions (review here)
– Destroy Me by Tahereh {★★★★★}: This was a novella but I ADORED IT. Warner is so amazing and I love him! He is a precious little bean and nobody deserves his little heart (review here)
– Fracture Me by Tahereh Mafi {★★★★☆}: At this point, I wasn’t really interested in a novella about this certain character but it looked important for the next book so I read it. I enjoyed more than I expected but the first half was just a repeat of the last bit of book 2 so was a little unnecessary (review here)
– Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi {★★★★★}: This was honestly just a great finale and is by far the best of the series. SO. FREAKING. GOOD!! (review here)
– The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken {★★★★★}: A little slow but SO GOOD and VERY underrated. You’ll need to get on and read this if you haven’t yet. I know dystopian is over but like it’s more urban fantasy. And that trailer (!!) I am hyped for the movie and my fave is Liam. He’s a precious little muffin (review here)

– Never Fade & In The Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken: I’m currently reading book 2 and I’ll probably finish the trilogy soon because I NEED TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS
– Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian: I have a proof copy for this and it sounds cool so I’d like to read it before it comes out.
– Carry On by Rainbow Rowell: I’ve just had this urge to read it… don’t ask me why
– Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi: You’ve probably heard of this book and I’d really like to read it. Not much else to say
– Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi: You’re probably why I haven’t read this yet seeing as I just binged the others. Well, the answer is that I don’t want to wait 5ever for the next book so I’m going to put it off but I’ll probably read it soon anyways so it’s on this list.
– The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo: This is the Topping The TBR March & April book of the month so I have to read it sometime. It’s short and I really love the Grisha world so I’m excited about this.
– Illuminae by Amie Kauffman & Jay Kristoff: Literally everybody has been recommending this to me and I think I’m going to audiobook it so this is going to be interesting seeing as it’s also sci-fi which also isn’t my fave

Yeah, so I’ve been watching a HECK ton of movies. Especially Disney. Don’t ask me. I’ve just wanted to rewatch all the Disney classics.
I watched Anastasia which I LOVED! I had to learn Russian history for school so it was even more interesting. I recommend if you haven’t seen it yet.
I’ve started a whole thread of stuff I’ve been watching on Twitter and I’ve been enjoying making aesthetics for them

I’m going to start a feature of reviewing movies I’m watching. I’d do TV but I’ll probably do an individual post for those. Click here for MINI MOVIE REVIEWS // Greatest Showman, Paddington & more
I don’t know if I mentioned it last time but I was watching Grey’s Anatomy but I haven’t watched it in a while. I’ll probably get back to it sometime. I also decided I need Gilmore Girls back in my life so I binged the first season (again) and then just stopped? Idk I’ve had a weird TV month.
I NEED SOME RECOMMENDATIONS PLEASE!!!!
- Okay so not much happened online
- I updated my review policy so now it looks really nice?
- If anyone really uses it idk…
- I got my rep package and that’s been super fun
- I reached 500 followers on my Instagram and have been gaining followers in general which is fun
- So I said earlier that my school work was doing well… I am actually shocked with myself. Like they’re mostly As and Bs (?). Wish me luck for exams though *ducks and hides+
- It’s also been one of those months where you just realise things that may be a bad thing but good for yourself if that makes any sense?
- I found another YA book by a South African author and I’m living for all these books.
- There will be a signing but I don’t think I’ll be able to go but we’ll see…
- I also just realised that I haven’t really used my bullet journal this entire month? But I also didn’t really need it so it’s okay
So I guess that’s it. I can’t think of anything else that you guys would like to hear that wouldn’t be boring. So I’d say March was a really good month. LIKE REALLY GOOD.
HOW WAS YOUR MONTH? DID YOU READ ANY GOOD BOOKS? WHAT MOVIES HAVE YOU BEEN WATCHING? I’D LOVE TO KNOW!
xo

I loved Carry On, The Language of Thorns and Illuminae so I’m hoping you will as well. And I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Restore Me. I still need to buy it.

Oooh looks like you had a super fab reading month! The Darkest Minds was actually super popular when it came out, and I remember enjoying it, but I’ve never felt inclined to read the sequels. T_T Maybe when the movie comes out! And I hope you enjoy Children of Blood and Bone as much as I did!
