JUNE RECAP // great reads, exam results & movies galore
So I actually had a pretty good month!
I enjoyed all the books I read and watched a TON of movies plus exams ended and holidays have started (!!)
- An Ember In The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir {★★★★★}: Um I absolutely ADORED this book. The world is fantastic and the characters are amazing and gahhh can’t wait to read the rest of the series! Read my review here
- A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab {★★★★☆}: I really enjoyed this book. It took me 5ever to read which is probably why I took off a star. The magic system is really cool and I loved the characters. Again, super excited to continue with the series. Read my review here!
- Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson {★★★★★}: I totally picked this up on a whim and I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH. I loved the characters and the story kept me turning the page and now I need to read all Morgan’s books. Click here for my review.
I actually read a few books from my last TBR so second times the charm?
- To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo
- Children of Blood & Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
- Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
- A Thousand Perfect Notes by C. G. Drews
- hah so I became a July rep for CREATE EXPLORE READ and there are some awesome designs on the shop so use my code ‘RUBY10’ for a discount
- I reached 600 followers on Instagram?? oh btw you should follow *insert winky face*
- I’m going to more publisher events with friends and am SUPER HYPED
- I went to a bookstore and found a hardcover of Tyler Johnson Was Here by Jay Coles which I’m really chuffed about
- Have you seen all my recent posts?? I also have so a few exciting ones scheduled so my creativity is FLOWING
- I’ve had exams for the majority of June and they’re quite important and I got my results and was super shocked. Like they were way better than I thought. Like A’s for some of the subjects so very proud of myself
- I went go-karting and failed? But it was also really fun even though I completely embarrassed myself *cue nervous laughter*
- It’s holiday and I have SO MANY things I’d like to do
- My closest friend had to move which is sad but I also am going to try focus on 1) school work and 2) more life goals like writing (‘ll get to that in a sec) and filming
I’ve always wanted to write a book and I’ve just never had the story to tell and one day I was watching a video on YouTube and bam it hit me. I haven’t started writing it yet (I’m a bit scared) but I have characters and a story. The plot hasn’t come together yet but I’m super excited! It’s a contemporary btw and I will have a whole post dedicated to chatting about it so stay tuned for that.
I have watched SO MANY chick flicks you don’t even know. They’re all on my twitter thread but it’s mainly for novel inspiration.
I went to see The Incredibles 2 and it was SO AMAZING that I went to see it twice (!!). I loved it so much and might do a review?
I’m also still watching Once Upon A Time but season 7 is kinda weird so haven’t been in the biggest mood to watch it.
I binged the second season of Famous In Love (I forgot the show existed??) and it definetly isn’t the most amazing show in the world. I liked Paige’s character in season 1 but she annoyed me in this one as well as all the others. But RAINOR omg I would kill for him. He’s such a smol hearted character and I LOVE IT!! He’s the entire reason I continued watching. SO GOOD!
They announced Anne With An E season 2 and I AM HYPED. It’s in about a week and I AM GONNA DIE. I get to see my bae Gilbert again and I AM SO EXCITED YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW!
So I’d say an overall good month? I loved watching movies and finding amazing books. school’s good. I’m so excited to actually start writing and looking forward to the future!
HOW WAS YOUR MONTH? ANYTHING FUN HAPPEN? HOW MANY BOOKS DID YOU READ? DID YOU LOVE THEM? WHICH WERE YOUR FAVOURITES? LET ME KNOW!
