NOVEMBER RECAP // exams, my birthday and contemporaries
Eyy look at me trying to be on time because apparently, I’m the best at creating new content…
Okay so I was writing exams for basically the entirety of November, so um yeah, fun times. So I’m surprised I read anything at all. Well, I’ll stop rambling and get into what I read.
- The Trouble With Flying by Rachel Morgan {★★★★☆}: I really enjoyed this book. It’s set in South Africa and therefore was really relatable and just a really fun, fluffy romance. She has a few more books in the series so I’m also really excited to read those if they’re anything like this book. Click here for my review
- What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera {★★★★☆}: I read this book in collaboration with Bargain Books, which was so fun and I really enjoyed it. I loved the first 3/4 of the book but am still confused by the ending. The book wasn’t what I was expecting which is a little disappointing but nonetheless, I loved the characters and the pop culture and it’s really cute. December is school holidays for me and I’m currently in the mood to just read all the books so *hopefully,* that will be achieved. I would also like to participate in the Magical Readathon but ya know me, I never do them right…
- A Gathering of Shadows by V. E. Schwab
- Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare
- Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
- Seige and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
- Archenemies by Marissa Meyer
- Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend
- Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan
- Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
- Wildcard by Marie Lu
- As I mentioned, I’ve been writing exams which consist of a lot of me cramming and a heck ton of stress so
- It was my birthday this month, and I ordered Queen of Air and Darkness related things BUT I got a reading journal. I’m literally the worst artist but I really wanted to start a journal and basically, I just want to do TBRs and wrap-ups?? Idk how this will go but we’re just going to go with it. I was inspired by this video so watch it and maybe you’ll get a better idea??
- I also went to town for a day and I bought a whole load of stationery
yeah I don’t have enough yet okaythat I want to use for annotating?? I bought some tabs and fineliners and I’m going to try it out. I have annotated a book but it was just a poetry book so I felt a bit more comfortable. I basically just colour-coded my tabs and wrote a few feelings next to quotes I liked, I know SUPER interesting… - I went on a school trip to the beach for the weekend which was nervewracking but went much better than I thought it would, I actually got along with everyone and it was kinda fun??
- I’m lowkey freaking out because it’s the end of the year and next year is my last year of school therefore very important,,,
yeah I need help
Yeah so, of course, I decided to rewatch two entire seasons of Gilmore Girls during exams because I’m just that person. I watched season 4 and 5 and had a great time.
I also decided to rewatch the original Star Wars movies and I surprisingly really loved it, seeing as it’s sci-fi. I devoured them. I have watched a few of the newer ones but still have a couple more left. The script and acting is unquestionably bad but the story is just so entertaining that I couldn’t stop watching them and definitely get the hype.
I also decided that I needed to rewatch Shameless. I’m still on season one and I, of course, love it.
And since it’s now December, I just want to watch Christmas movies.. because why not? I have watched like two thus far but there are a few others that I’d also like to get to, like Love Actually. I also added a few books that are similar to Harry Potter because that’s kind of considered a Christmas-y read.
WHAT BOOKS DID YOU READ IN NOVEMBER? WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK? WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS DECEMBER? I’D LOVE TO KNOW!
