DECEMBER RECAP // i read A LOT, booksale & igtv
December was such a great month for me WHAT?!
I mean, not with blogging? But EVERYTHING ELSE!!
I read a HECK TON. And I met up with friends. Plus it was Christmas and holidays and just EVERYTHING
- The Dark Between Stars by Atticus Poetry {★★★★☆}: I read this in collaboration with Bargain Books and I really liked it. I’ve never read a poetry collection outside of school before, but I really wanted to see what all the fuss was about modern poetry. And I must say, I had a great time. I even tabbed and wrote in my book?? What?? Anyways, I really liked it. Definitely, want to try and read more poetry.
- Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare {★★★★★}: Um like I mean what did you expect? Of course, it was amazing. I died and came back to life, SO GOOD. Cassie wrote the perfect ending and left a giant gaping hole in my heart. It was perfection! The characters are amazing and the plot?? Wow! I miss the days when I could devour 500 pages in a day, but Cassie’s books made me. Review here
- Wildcard by Marie Lu {★★★★½}: Ahh this BOOK! I was on my seat the entire time and was enveloped by the world once again. Marie Lu is a genius and I adore this book. The world and plot are amazing and I love like all the characters. SO FREAKING AMAZING. Click here for my review.
- A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab {★★★★½}: I also LOVED this book. I decided to eat the entire book over a weekend and I loved every glorious second. The world is amazing. The magic system is more amazing. I love all the characters. SO GOOD I CAN’T EVEN. And the ending!! I need to read the third book asap but also I don’t want it to ENDDD! Click here for my review
I was determined to stick to my last TBR and I read quite a few off the list so let’s hope I keep going strong 🙂
- Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
- Seige and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
- Archenemies by Marissa Meyer
- Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan
- A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab
- Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend
- The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
- The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven
- I went to the Bargain Books Warehouse pre-sale and oh my gosh I HAD A BLAST. It’s amazing. I got like 14 books and spent time with bookish friends. It’s this ginormous book sale across 2 warehouses packed with awesome books at really cheap prices. The next sale is on the 21st of March, so if you’re in the Cape Town area, you definitely cannot miss out
- I posted 2 IGTV videos (!!). One was my Warehouse Sale haul and the other a little montage of the clips I took at the sale and I’m proud? I definitely want to post more there, get the hang of editing and all that. Click here for my Instagram profile!
- I also did a giveaway with Bargain Books which went really well. I was gaining loads of followers and chatting to people.
- I also did this ADSOM inspired photo shoot which I’m SUPER DUPER proud of !!!!
- I started the book club back up again with my friend. It’s called Topping The TBR if you’re interested. And I’m super excited about it. It’s very chill, which is much less stressful.
- It was a good month…
- I just need to post more? I ran out of post ideas and then basically disappeared?? I apologise. I need to get back in the swing of things, I think the year exhausted me so I just took a break
I rewatched almost all the Star Wars movies and I LOVED THEM. I’m not a sci-fi person but I really wanted to see if I actually liked these movies. The script and acting is kinda terrible but like I couldn’t stop watching them. I had a grand time.
I also couldn’t stop watching Shameless. I adore that show. It’s so good. I stopped at the end of Season 5 because my heart couldn’t handle it but man it’s so good I LOVE IT!!!
I also watched a couple Christmas movies. None of them blew me away though. Except Elf. I adore Elf!!
And I went to see Crimes of Grindewald … and I don’t know how I feel? I liked it, but I went in with low expectations. I’m so confused. We got so much information?? And I don’t know what to think.
And also, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I wish you a wonderful year full of joy and books!! It’s going to be great, I can feel it.
WHAT DID YOU READ IN DECEMBER? WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE READ? HOW WAS YOUR CHRISTMAS, IF YOU CELEBRATED IT? I’D LOVE TO KNOW!
