FEBRUARY RECAP // i hosted a readathon & binged a show… who am i??
Okay, now it’s the time to ask where the year has gone? How is it even February?!?!
I didn’t read as much as I could have but I have a reason…
Anyways, let’s get into it.
- The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo {★★★★☆}: I read this for a readathon I hosted at the beginning of February and I read it in a mere few hours. I loved it from the very first page. It’s such a stunning novel, so empowering and amazing. I just loved it and definitely going to read anything else Elizabeth publishes! The only reason Click here for my Goodreads review.
- A Thousand Perfect Notes by C. G. Drews {★★★★½}: I also read this for my readathon and absolutely adored it. Don’t even ask me why I only got to it now even though I had an ARC and everything, it was clearly a mistake since it was so good. I loved the writing and the characters and just everything. Just wow what a stunning novel as well. Ahhh also super excited for more of Cait’s books. Click here for my Goodreads review!
- The Gentleman’s Guide To Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee {★★★★☆}: Again we’re going to ignore the fact that it took me forever to read this book. I just recently finished this one since it was the Topping The TBR pick for February and I had a grand old time. It was super funny (as promised) and such a fun novel. I loved, well most of, the characters and the writing and the tour aspect. I was a bit underwhelmed with the actual plot and some of the characters irritated me which is what lowered my rating a bit, but I loved it all the same. Click here for my review.
This is less ambitious than usual but also more realistic. I’m also super super excited to get to them so I really think I’ll stick to it.
- The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
- The Kingdom by Jess Rothenberg (ARC)
- The Darkest Legacy by Alexandra Bracken
- This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab
- I had the absolute best time at the Pan MacMillan 2019 Highlights presentation. We got some awesome books and I saw some of my friends, it was so great. I got that ARC I just mentioned and somehow managed to snag a copy King Of Scars in hardcover (!!) by Leigh Bardugo.
- And I hosted what I call the Short-Book-A-Thon which I hosted over the first weekend of February. The aim was to read some of the short books that have been sitting on your TBR. I didn’t read all that I wanted but I did finish two books and about a third through another one. I had a blast (the third day wasn’t fun) hosting it and definitely want to do a more in the future, hopefully soon since you guys seemed to like it. I loved that some of my friends joined, it was so much fun!!
- Okay, actually nothing else happened because I lowkey disappeared for like 3 weeks…
- But the Bargain Books Warehouse Sale is happening this month and I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED. For those who didn’t know, it’s an awesome sale and I’ve been given early access. There’s such a great selection of titles and I get to see my friends and I CANNOT WAIT. Check out their website here for more.
Okay, the real reason I disappeared and went totally MIA…
I may or may not have watched a whole bunch of One Tree Hill
Yeah, I know. I watched A TON. I was honestly and truly obsessed. It has been a while since I watched that much TV. Which is why I’m excusing myself. You want to know how far I got, let’s just say I stopped at the season where two of the leads have their last episode. It was a time. I was hardcore shipping a certain couple which is the main reason I didn’t stop. But also it has a brilliant soundtrack. Most of the music I’ve been listening too is from the 2000s and its great.
HOW WAS YOUR FEBRUARY? DID YOU READ ANY GOOD BOOKS? WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE READ? OR DID YOU ALSO BINGE TOO MUCH TELEVISION? LET ME KNOW!
