APRIL RECAP // anxiety struggles, a fave book, blogiversary & writing

Hey hey hey, well I truly tried to get back on a regular schedule but um life has been SO FREAKING BUSY. And I haven’t had any time to read let alone post. Gahhh!!
Anyways, let’s just get into this recap.
Monthly Recap - wrap up

  • A Million Junes by Emily Henry {★★★★★}: Gosh I totally picked this up on a whim because my friends were talking about it so much. And ahh it’s been a while since I literally wanted to read a book all day. I loved this one so much. I loved the relationship and the world and the mysterious whimsy of the story and world. I loved the writing and the characters were so complex. Just ahhhh I  loved this book. Click here for my Goodreads review.
  • The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde {★★★☆☆}: I had to read this one for school and I usually don’t talk about them much but I know this a loved book and I have some opinions. As you can tell I rarely rate books low, I generally know my taste but with this book, I was really into it for the first third and then some characters started making stupid decisions and I got irritated which unfortunately lowered my enjoyment. I don’t love classics but I do very much appreciate the message beneath them. You can click here for my Goodreads review.
  • The Boy Who Steals Houses by C.G. Drews {★★★★★}: OH MY GOD I ADORE THIS BOOK SO MUCH I CANNOT EVEN CONTAIN IT. It’s literally one of my top 3 of the year IT WAS SO GOOD. My heart just hurt the whole way through and I still haven’t recovered. I just ate up all the characters and the witty dialogue (which we all know I love). And the romance!! I just need to hug all my favourite children and feed them brownies. SO AMAZING GO AND READ IT NOW!!! Click here for my Goodreads review.
  • Heartstopper Volume 1 by Alice Oseman {★★★★★}: This book was so freaking cute and I need the second volume right now. I loved the art style and I love how the romance was so just so pure and easy. Did I mention that I need volume 2 now please and thank you?? Luckily it’s coming out super soon. I also have a short Goodreads review, click here to read.

Monthly Recap - tbr
I have exams for the next month so I won’t be reading much more than I am now but I will have a few spare moments here and there so I do have a few books I want to get to.

  • Dry by Neal & Jarrod Shusterman
  • Field Notes On Love by Jennifer E. Smith
  • The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon
  • The Opposite of Always by Justin A. Reynolds

Monthly Recap - Online Stuff
Yo, I actually surpassed 1000 followers on Instagram and it feels so good. Its been a long time coming and I really love photography so I put a lot more effort over there.
Also, my 2-year blogiversary came up and it feels so weird. I didn’t do anything or really mention anything because I’ve been so busy and had no mental capacity. Anyways.
Yeah did anything else really happen? No, not really. I’m a boring person.

Monthly Recap - writing
I had a book idea in a dream a few months ago and I wrote it down but recently I’ve been DYING to just write it. But I’m busy and have no story because I haven’t put the effort into brainstorming one. But just, gahhhh. I really want to write it. It’s a paranormal fantasy type story, I don’t really know yet. I have a contemporary project that I also want to write at some point, it’s just a lot more personal. I think I have a sorta synopsis on a post a while so click here for that.
Monthly Recap - life updates
Ahhh life is so hectic. My anxiety is really bad because matric is very stressful if you didn’t know.
And exams are up soon which is always fun.
And so is applying to university and having to be adult.
You know me and life are having a great relationship.
