MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK RELEASES FOR THE REST OF 2019 // take a shot every time I say the word “excited”

I literally decided I needed to do this post like today and had this idea that it had to be posted TODAY. Yes you now all now how extremely stubborn I am.

I did this last year but huh funny story: wordpress posted an old draft and most of the context disappeared. I didn’t notice it till like 1 month later WHOOPS when I reposted it. Here’s to that hopefully NOT happening again.

Anyways, the reason I wanted to post this so quickly was because one of the books literally came out today so it wouldn’t make sense to mention it after it’s released and I really wanted to talk about my excitement. Is that even logical? No definitely not. But oh well.

I’ll stop rambling and just get into all the books.

There are some great books that are still to come out that I wanted to squawk about! Let’s just get into them!!

SEPTEMBER

American Royals by Katherine McGee (5 September 2019): oh wow okay I did not know this book was already out WHOOPS. But it sounds so good. What if America had a royal family? Um yes, please. I’m not expecting anything amazing but this sounds like a great, fun, pick-me-up book and I’m here for it.

Frankly In Love by David Yoon (12 September 2019): this is the book that just came out that I’ve been so excited about, so HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY!! The reviews have been amazing and it’s EVERYWHERE. You probably already know that the author is the husband of Nicola Yoon (who I love and yes I am terrible and STILL need to get to The Sun Is Also A Star, don’t @ me). But this one sounds sort of similar to To All The Boys and I’m just so excited about it. SO SO SO EXCITED. Emphasis on excited, GIVE IT TO ME NOW!! Also, the paperback edition is super pretty.

Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell (24 September 2019): I mean YES. Did you expect any other book to be on this list? And I am aware we have like two weeks left until this book comes out. Am I emotionally ready for this book? No. Am I ready to read this book? YES YES YES. I have absolutely NO CHILL!!

OCTOBER

Now Entering Addamsville by Francesca Zappia (1 October 2019): I love Francesca Zappia and I’m going to buy all her books. I literally know basically nothing about this book except that it’s Halloween themed. I just want to go in blind and be blown away.

Into The Crooked Place by Alexandra Christo (8 October 2019): I really enjoyed her debut last year and this sounds really cool. Again, I know next to nothing except that it’s high fantasy and I’m very intrigued.

The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh (8 October 2019): now, to be honest, I actually have no idea how good this is going to be. I’ve never read anything by this author before and I’ve seen relatively not-amazing reviews. BUT VAMPIRES. I am here for that. I am here for the Victorian era but in Orlando and the mysterious murders. So I’m hoping that this will be good. *fingers crossed*

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo (8 October 2019): so many books coming out on this day wow. Also, I am the biggest scaredy-cat so this book might not be read for a while. But it’s Leigh Bardugo and I DO want to read it. I am here for the Yale secret societies. Somebody pray for me.

Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker and Wendy Xu (15 October 2019): I literally did not know this book existed until everybody started saying how cute it was and, gahh it really does sound so cute. It’s a graphic novel about a witch and werewolf BAKING. There’s romance and gosh it just sounds so freaking wonderful. I believe there’s even a nonbinary character which is awesome!!

NOVEMBER

Supernova by Marissa Meyer (5 November 2019): gosh I am so dang ready for this book because of that cliffhanger!! I am a huge sucker for superpowers and am tremendously enjoying this series because of it. But I’m super excited to see how this series wraps up!!

Call Down The Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater (5 September 2019): OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH MY BODY IS READY FOR THIS BOOK. Actually, no, send help. I read the chapter sampler and I was simultaneously was like wtf is happening?! and also PYNCH!! I’m also currently rereading TRC and having THE BEST time and am just so flipping ready for this book.

[We also would’ve got Chain of Gold in November but the date changed. I am sad but also even more excited for March next year.]
