Hi yes hello if you’re new here then you probably don’t know that I am obsessed with Stranger Things. And I basically find any and every excuse to talk about it. You’ve been warned.

Also yes I am working on a season 3 review (which is very late but OH WELL). I have done a post about both season 1 and 2 if you’d like to take a look, you can click here. It is quite old though and you’ll probably cringe so uh, enter at your own risk. I need to find the strength to write this post but I promise it is coming. As soon as my exams are over and I’ll more time to dedicate to blogging. But that’s not we’re here to talk about today.

Yes, you have seen this book everywhere and I’m definitely not the first person to talk about it. But um oh my gosh this book SLAPPED from the very first page! I was obsessed. Literally, I just knew it right then that it would blow my mind. Which it did because YES!

This book is truly as amazing as everyone says. I love old music, I truly should’ve been born in the 80’s era… but alas, life wanted me here now. It was just so good?! And I’m SO EXCITED for the tv show, I NEED TO LISTEN TO THEIR MUSIC. Daisy Jones & The Six was just so well-crafted and thought out. It’s just everything I ever wanted from a fake biography and like what even?! The characters just like blow your mind. There’s a love triangle sorta, but don’t fret it is not what you think. I just,,, am speechless it’s SO GOOD. Hands down one of the best books of the year.

I feel like Harry Potter is the obvious and most used answer for all variations of this question which is… why I’m not using it. But I’m also slightly cheating by using this. But who even cares, this is my post. STOP JUDGING ME!

Yes, you’ve heard me non-stop talk about how obsessed I am with Carry On because it is marvellous. I feel like because this book is just so incredibly crazy that I would fit right in and be completely dine. Literally, it’s this book is all over the place which is why it’s so perfect for my messed up life. There are smol chaotic gays and the strangest spells you can imagine but that’s why it’s SO GOOD?! It’s becoming a trilogy now and I’m lowkey highkey thriving. I do have a lil’ review up, it’s a tad old so, you again may cringe but here it is anyway? I did give you a warning.

The Raven Boys

Before I even looked at these questions I knew that I’d mention this book in some way or another. I always say that if you like The Raven Cycle series than you’ll enjoy Stranger Things. I mean the book is about an eerie southern town with this group of friends where strange things happen?! It literally screams ST, can you name a better comparison?! Probably, but just give me my moment, please?

I also feel like the book community has been talking about this book all the time recently? Is this just me? It is probably because, you know, Call Down The Hawk, came out a few days ago? But the Gangsey is iconic and also… a mess but it’s why we love them. I need to get my reread on and stop being the worst reader ever. Also, did I mention CALL DOWN THE HAWK?!?!? It has great reviews so far and I MUST HAVE IT *insert keyboard smash*

With all this cast announcement, I think we all have the urge to drop everything and reread and cry over the Grishaverse books right? It’s not just me? She says having not read the Shadow and Bone trilogy yet welp. It’s fine. But back to Kaz. He does some nasty things. But he’s still the best and I can’t help feel for this emotionally tortured gang leader. I guess that says something about me but oh well, we all live with our faults ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I literally just read this book and it isn’t even out so idk if this a good answer or not but oh well let’s just roll with it. I also loved this book a lot and wanted to talk about it more. This is MY post okay, we do what we want, I thought this was already established.

Anyways, I had heard nobody talk about this book but the premise sounded so awesome, and I took a leap of faith and requested it from the publisher so I read an eARC – this book is out January 2020. It was described as a modern You’ve Got Mail reimagining which I recently watched and have been thinking about it like ever since. I read this book in like 24 hours and I just,,, was left with a huge smile on my face. I was expecting a cheesy romance which would probably super dramatic and angsty. And it was the opposite of that? It was so well-rounded, the characters were relatable 24/7 and all the side-characters were well developed. The writing was witty and wonderful. I was just like WOW this author did THAT. I wanted to give her a huge round of applause for doing a teen rom-com the right way *drops mic*

The Hunger Games

Guys, I swear I’m not trying to be the most basic reader ever but I can’t help it, I’m sorry.

I mean I thought about it and literally could not think of one worse than the government in The Hunger Games so we’re just gonna go with my very basic answer. I mean, like, making kids kill each other for entertainment? We really can’t get any worse. Also yes I’ve been in the BIGGEST THG mood for the past few months because they’re still amazing to this day and I just,,, need the reread obsession in my life. Truly if I start talking about I probably won’t stop. We’re also all waiting on that prequel so I know it won’t just be me binge rereading the entire trilogy. The movies are some of my absolute faves, I watch them on a regular basis. It’s a problem I should probably get looked at welp.

This was actually super hard to answer because I’m the biggest scaredy-cat you’ll ever meet and I stay away from books with creepy creatures? So we’re just going to go with another basic answer and say dementors?

Those things scary af so NO THANK YOU, SIR! We love Harry Potter and would I be able to conjure up a Patronus as well as him? No way on this dear earth. Nobody expected anything else tbh. And I feel no shame admitting this because they’d scare the living daylights out of anybody. Don’t try and fight me on that. On another note though, I actually also have been meaning to reread this series because I remember basically nothing and I want to make my life even more stressful. It’s fine, we’re fine.

Archenemies

Omg, there are SO many, these being a few on mind: A Gathering of Shadows by VE Schwab, Gemina by Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman, Heartstopper Volume 1 by Alice Oseman and Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare.

But Archenemies was the first to come to mind because it is a rare occasion to be so enveloped by a story and to then turn the page and see the ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS and wonder where the remaining 20 pages are!! Because that was me with this book. I was not expecting it to end like right then and there and I am so hyped for Supernova to come out later this year. Like what even. I did not sign up for that e-n-d-i-n-g, no ma’am. I really need this dang sequel please and thank. With a cherry on top.
