Hello there friends!

So apparently I was nominated for a blog award?? And I didn’t know about it until recently so am I only now getting around it welp.

A huge thanks to Daria @ Bookaholic’s Therapy for nominating me, so sorry it took so long.

Anyways, I’m just going to answer all the question and hopefully not fail at these.

What is a book that made you happy?

My immediate thought was to say Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston but in the spirit of trying not to be repetitive as I usually am, we’re going to go with Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks. I don’t think I’ve talked about this one too much so I decided it needed some spotlight time.

This a graphic novel and also lowkey my all-time favourite one (of the ones I’ve read so far as I only started reading them last year). It was just such a delight. The art style is just stunning, the colour palette is just WOW!! It’s full of Halloween adventures and delicious food. We’ve got a slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance going on and I just LOVED this one. Highly recommend you read if you haven’t, I swear you won’t regret.

What is your NOTP (a book couple that you don’t like)?

I don’t ever, like, not ship couples. Like I don’t care that much if I don’t LOVE a couple. It’s whatever. And I also don’t not ship these two but as my taste has developed, I began to care less about Emma and Julian from The Dark Artifices and their whole relationship. I was much more invested in *cough* Kit and Ty *cough*. I still like them, and the romance between them didn’t bother me or anything but I didn’t care as much. Julian is still a smol baby who deserves a hug. But eh Emma started getting annoying so. Welp sorry.

What song reminds you of your childhood?

Whenever somebody asks what my name is, and I say “Ruby” I always get “Oh yeah, have you ever listened to that song?”. There are multiple songs called Ruby (the one I’m talking about being Ruby by Kaiser Chiefs) as my Dad always used to play this one when I was a kid and the one I know best. It’s very rock-and-roll and the first song on the album. And I scream to it occasionally. Fun times. There’s also Ruby Tuesday by The Rolling Stones, which is lovely!

Do you listen to music while writing a post or do you need silence?

I absolutely CANNOT blog without music. I hate the clicking of keys on my laptop when I’m blogging, I can’t like proof-read my posts with music, but I absolutely can’t write without music. It’s a no from me.

What is your favourite TV show?

Hmm, it’s funny you ask that. I mean what ON EARTH could it possibly be??? HA I know I’m funny. Idk WHO you are if you didn’t know that it was Stranger Things. I’ve watched the show like 6 times or something,  it’s no secret that I love it. Literally go ask anybody who follows me on Instagram where I talk about it like every 5 seconds WHOOPS.

That show OH MAN!! Literally has everything that I love aka the 80s, loveable characters, special abilities and weird going-ons. I just,,, love it to pieces. I do plan on getting a season three discussion up (which DESTROYED ME!! Best season yet??) sometime soon because I’ve put it off for wayyyy too long.

What is your opinion on audiobooks?

I think they’re great!! And honestly don’t understand why people don’t like them. I don’t listen to that many, only because I don’t need to all that often. I’m mainly at home and don’t live in a big city where I could make more use of them. But I’ve listened to a few before and always have a great time.

This also the perfect opportunity to mention that I’ve slowly been listening to some audiobooks that I got from Libro.fm, as I’m part of their ALC program. They’re such an awesome platform as they support local bookstores and the membership price is very reasonable.

But yeah, audiobooks are awesome and I’m super excited to start listening to more of them. I’m definitely going to this year since I am going to be living in the city for university.

What is/was your favourite subject at school?

I graduated high school a month ago and my favourite (and best) subject was History. Which is truly not surprising as it’s basically like learning a story, so no wonder. I also really loved English, again not surprising.
