BOOKS, TV SHOWS & HISTORY
Has anyone else noticed that there are now so many books that are being created into tv shows? And how many tv shows are based on historical events? I’ve seen it a lot recently and thought it would be great to share with you and gain other’s thoughts. There are so many books, especially book series, that are now popular tv shows, a well-known one being Game of Thrones. I’ve heard phenomenal things about this tv shows and it has such a huge fanbase. And the show brings awareness to that time of the world it is set in. An important part of human history. And isn’t clever how people bring attention to that part of our history. In my opinion, I think it’s great that there are now so many tv shows based on such important parts of the past. Netflix now has a big chunk of historical tv shows to watch. The Crown, Reign, Vikings. These events are so important to many parts of history, and it’s awesome that they’ve found a way to tell these stories and targeted it in such a way that will attract viewers to learn this important information. Thousands and thousands of people across…

Review: SHADOWHUNTERS Season 2 Episode 19
Episode Name: Hail And Fairwell Director: Matt Hastings Writer: Bryan Q. Miller Running time: 43 min Release Date: 07/08/2017 Genre: Fantasy Rating Synopsis: After centuries of being lied to and treated poorly by the Clave, the Downworlders decide to come together and take matters into their own hands as the hunt for Valentine and Sebastian intensifies. But what starts off as a way to preserve their own, the Downworlders choice to break with the Shadowhunters, could quickly escalate to war. MY THOUGHTS (SPOILERS AHEAD) Grab a snack. There is SO much I have to talk about. Sebastian & Valentine I feel like I say this in every review, but they just keeping getting heavier and more perfect. Sebastian is great. As always. I feel like Valentine has some other plan, but I have no idea what. They’re great. I’m excited Malec My heart hurts. They’re is so much tension. I can’t. There is something happening with Magnus, Why else would a powerful warlock like himself think the Seelie Queen will actually protect him. But I understand where he’s coming from. The Clave would not protect the Downworlders over their own kind. Maia/Simon These two are just too cute. I love…

Review: SHADOWHUNTERS Season 2 Episode 18
Episode Name: Awake, Arise or Be Forever Fallen Director: Amanda Row Writer: Jamie Gorenberg Running time: 43 min Release Date: 31/07/2017 Genre: Fantasy Rating: Synopsis After a devastating attack at the Institute, everyone is on high alert as the Shadowhunters close in on their hunt for Jonathan. Meanwhile, Simon and Maia help a new Downworlder as the Seelie Queen demands an answer from Magnus and Luke. MY THOUGHTS (SPOILERS AHEAD) – especially for City of Glass book So, the main focus of this episode was Max. I have mixed feelings about all that happened. I liked that the Lightwoods came together, but the rest that went down felt odd. Are there even medics in the Institute? The thing is, Max’s death was very important to the ending of CoG and most of those events play big roles in later books. I don’t know where that whole storyline is going to go, we’ll have to wait and see. Oh my gosh, Malec gave me the feels. I LOVED the Malec flashbacks. There were so good and felt so real and normal. I’m really intrigued to see where their relationship goes. Also, Maia and Simon are SO cute and I’m super pumped for…

Review: SHADOWHUNTERS Season 2 Episode 17
Episode Name: A Dark Reflection Director: Jeffrey Hunt Writer: Hollie Overton Running time: 43 min Release Date: 24/07/2017 Genre: Fantasy Rating: Synopsis: With two of the three Mortal Instruments missing, everyone is on the hunt for the last one – the Mortal Mirror. Jace and Clary are on the hunt to recover it first before it could fall into enemy hands. But along the way, Clary realizes that her brother Jonathan may be closer than she thought. Meanwhile, Isabelle has a hard time accepting the fact that her little brother Max is growing up, and Maia struggles to bring her guard down with Simon. MY THOUGHTS (SPOILERS AHEAD) So, the episode started out with a weird Clace scene. I hope their e relationship gets better, because at the moment, I’m not loving it. Their lines seem like they have no emotion in them and I honestly hope it gets better. I liked that Clary wants to make peace with Jonathan. It feels like something she’d do in the books before she knew what he’d done. Will and Kat’s performances with those scenes were spot on. Bu that kiss. I freaked out and wanted to throw up. No, just no. But…

BIANNUAL BIBLIOTHON & BOOKTUBE-A-THON TBR OF JULY 2017
Hello there fellow readers, I’m going to participate in the Biannual Bibliothon and Booktube-A-Thon this winter. I’m in a reading slump and I hope to get rid of it by reading a heck load of books in one week. Unfortuneately, it would be impractical for me to read 7 books in one week since school is starting but I plan on destroying my reading slump and having an all-round great time. I’m also going to try to complete as many reading challenges as possible without buying any books and read books I’ve been planning to for a while. I also want to post as many BIBIB blog challenges and Instagram challenges of each readathon as I possibly can. It’s a lot in one week but I think we’re going to have a great time. Review: SHADOWHUNTERS Season 2 Episode 16
Episode Name: Day Of Atonement Director: Paul Wesley Writer: Peter Binswanger Running time: 43 min Release Date: 17/07/2017 Genre: Fantasy Rating: Synopsis: Given the past year’s events, Simon struggles with observing the Jewish Day of Atonement, while Clary and Jace travel to Idris looking for Valentine. MY THOUGHTS (SPOILERS AHEAD) I have to say, I was quite scared going into the episode. But my fears turned unnecessary, in fact, the episode was very enjoyable to watch, despite not much happening, we just learn Shadowworld history. I knew all of it, but it was nice to see how the writers brought it in. I loved Paul’s directing, considering he knew less to nothing of the story or actors. He did an excellent job and it was done very well. Initially, I was afraid of Sebastian’s history since he wasn’t raised by Valentine, but it looks like it’s going to go in a good direction. But first, let’s talk about demon Sebastian. He keeps getting scarier and scarier. I think he’s going to be a great villain. But also, why didn’t Valentine just move from where-ever they were staying and not send his son (and precious experiment) to demon realms? But then…

Review: SHADOWHUNTERS Season 2 Episode 15
Episode Name: A Problem Of Memory Director: Peter DeLuise Writer: Allison Rymer Running time: 43 min Release Date: 10/07/2017 Genre: Fantasy Rating: Synopsis: Simon looks for a distraction with an evening out with some of his new vampire friends. What started out as a night to let loose quickly turns much darker when Simon wakes up the next morning with no memory of the night before and a dead body he now has to answer for. Meanwhile, Alec orders Valentine to be transferred to Idris to help repair relations with the Downworlders. Magnus recalls when he was a young warlock and found his mother dead. His stepfather then grunts at him in something captioned at Dutch (which it is NOT), and Magnus killed his stepfather. MY THOUGHTS (SPOILER AHEAD) This was a great episode. It was a lot of fun and I had a good time watching it. It kept me at the edge of my seat and I was constantly nervous about what was going to happen. There are a few minor things that I didn’t like but otherwise I really liked the episode. So, the aftermath of last episode has hit Simon fast and that is the main…
