POPULAR BOOKTOK BOOKS I RECOMMEND // 10 viral tiktok books i actually like that you could read if you want

I don’t know what I’m doing today but I am unhinged and we’re just rolling with it. Spur of the moment decisions over at Ruby Rae Reads today *hides* I could be here talking about the worst BookTok books because I know there are many but I don’t want to put myself through that amount of pain. Very rarely will you catch me pushing through god-awful books and oof I know which ones those are. Avoiding them like the plague in this household. Anyways, I shan’t waste time on the opinions I have concerning this platform because frankly, I don’t know what I would say. It has been both very amusing watching books grow on TikTok whilst also being really cool for the book industry. So there are my two cents, maybe I’ll come back for a discussion? This post is just going to discuss books I rated basically higher than 3 stars. Some are not amazing and a few by authors I wouldn’t support anymore, but I wanted to talk about. Let’s just get into the books. There are more than I anticipated so I’ll be as brief as possible! CONTEMPORARY — It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover:…

MY FAVOURITE BOOKS OF 2022 // top 15 books of the year in an unorganised order

Ahhh it’s my favourite time of the belated year. Let’s ignore that minor detail and focus on the positives today folks. I’m only a week late so not too shameful. I,,, my list is stunning this year but I’ve also yelled about a lot of them already so you probably know what books I’ll be talking about. Also yes I am aware Chloe Gong is not on this list and there are two reasons for that: 1) I got busy this year and 2) my mental health is not prepared haha. Not even an exaggeration, that book will give me a heart attack. Prepare for all of her books to be on the 2023 list *wink wink* Oops, Taylor Jenkins Reid has also not made an appearance but can you guess? I’m behind. Yep. Related posts: Top Books of 2021 2022 Mid Year Freak Out Tag I’m doing it slightly differently this year because I’m indecisive with the usual honourable mentions list so I’m putting them all together and we’ll rank near the end. Idk just roll with it *hides* Shall we just get started? Indeed. TOP 15 BOOKS OF 2022: (in semi order) ♥ Every Summer After by Carley…

MY FAVOURITE BOOKS OF 2021 // a whopping bizarre top 8 ft. some honourable mentions

Life is currently a mess and I really wanted to get a lot more end of year posts out this month, but alas, 2021 will just have to close on the messy path it was already on. I have no idea what I’m writing but we’re rolling with it *nervous laughter* Apologies as I did have a fun idea for a Christmas recommendations list, but I just had no motivation to get it done. You’ll have to wait until next year folks. As usual, lowkey doing this post is stressful because I leave it till the very last day of the year JUST IN CASE a new favourite needs to squeeze on here. There hasn’t been one but it’s okay, at least I’m wrapping up all the books. Related posts: Top Books of 2020 2021 Mid Year Freak Out Tag Today I have 15 books in total to talk about, 7 are honourable mentions and 8 are the top favourites. I’m chuffed with this selection, though I’ll try and keep this post short and sweet so we can zoom through them. Very excited to talk about them, so let’s get into it! VALENTINE’S DAY ROMANCE BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS // 10 romantic reads to make you smile, yearn, laugh and cry (in no particular order)

I refuse to take notice of the fact that I’m listening to driver’s license amongst other songs that are considered “sad” this weekend, so do with that what you will. Yes, I was being dramatic but also I am kinda only in the mood for sad music. Truly no idea why. Who else has been streaming driver’s license and acts indifferent but is also very invested in that drama? Okay, I’ll stop now because we are here for happy books and smiles. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone. I mean, it’s technically tomorrow (in my time zone) but I’m trying to be slightly on time. Before we start, wanted to let ya know I was going to make this part of the Distracting Yourself series however idk if it fits, but I would like to say that social distancing is still a thing my friends. I hope you’re listening and adhering to guidelines. Now that that’s out of the way, I wanted to do something fun for a Valentine’s Day post, and whilst this isn’t unique or anything, you may have noticed that I’ve been reading quite a lot of romance lately. Idk did you pick up on that? So I may have…

MY FAVOURITE BOOKS OF 2020 // a short top 5 list ft. some honourable mentions

And… Happy New Year’s Eve my friends! As I said last year, indeed I do wait until the last day of the year to post this. Just in case. Even though I haven’t really added a new fave to this list in a while, only a recent read to the honourable mentions. Unfortunately, my TOP FAVES is not very long at all, I tried to make it longer but I just abandoned all of my 2020 tbr, basically no YA, maybe too much adult romance and a couple of series rereads. Love that for me. This year has been terrible, to say the least, but I think I had a couple of good reads. Would’ve loved to have many more though. Alas, not everything you wish for comes true. I hope you all have a better 2021. And hoping my list next year will be more diverse in terms of genre, but I don’t want to jinx it so shhhhhh Related posts: TOP 10 of 2019 Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag 2020 Without further ado, let’s dive right in. Hello hello, my reindeer friends, merry Christmas to those who celebrate or happy holidays! Welcome to the unexpected third addition to this smol series of mine. It is not as long today, which could either be a good or bad thing. This was just a spur of the moment idea that I super loved. Click for the previous instalments: Part 1 aka romantic movie recommendations Part 2 aka binge-worthy book recommendations So if you’re a bit lonely this holiday season, I’ve got your back with some of my favourite Christmas movies. They’re not all technically Christmas movies, some of them just have wintery vibes or have a Christmas scene. But nonetheless, they’re some of my faves so let’s jump into it. *crickets chirping* First up we have The Hunger Games. Because the second movie has about 5 seconds of snow. Lmao if I didn’t want to embarrass myself, I would actually do that. Now let’s really get into it.   not exactly a Christmas movie but the VIBES 🎄 🦌 🎁 ⛄…

RUBY’S BOOK CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE // a smol list of books that would make great presents this holiday season

Happy holidays! (to everyone who celebrates) This may be a little late and therefore useless if you’ve already done all your Christmas shopping, so I apologise. But if not then yay, I have a purpose in life. 🎄 🦌 🎁 ⛄ Anyways, I wanted to do some fun Christmas posts this year, but haven’t read basically any books that I think would be good enough. I do however have a couple of books on my shelf that I think would be really cool gifts for your family and friends. This isn’t your usual gift guide and I think these books are pretty under the radar so I hope somebody finds this useful. This list is lil more personal because they’re books I’d love to be gifted (even though I already own them lmao) but without further ado, let us get into it. For a food lover: Recipes From The World of Tolkien by Robert Tuesley Anderson I honestly didn’t know this existed until recently but it is SO COOL. And they are so many great recipes like Pork Pie, apple loaf and all kinds of foods from the LOTR world. It’s beautifully illustrated and would be a wonderful gift for…
