MY FAVOURITE BOOKS OF 2022 // top 15 books of the year in an unorganised order

Ahhh it’s my favourite time of the belated year. Let’s ignore that minor detail and focus on the positives today folks. I’m only a week late so not too shameful. I,,, my list is stunning this year but I’ve also yelled about a lot of them already so you probably know what books I’ll be talking about. Also yes I am aware Chloe Gong is not on this list and there are two reasons for that: 1) I got busy this year and 2) my mental health is not prepared haha. Not even an exaggeration, that book will give me a heart attack. Prepare for all of her books to be on the 2023 list *wink wink* Oops, Taylor Jenkins Reid has also not made an appearance but can you guess? I’m behind. Yep. Related posts: Top Books of 2021 2022 Mid Year Freak Out Tag I’m doing it slightly differently this year because I’m indecisive with the usual honourable mentions list so I’m putting them all together and we’ll rank near the end. Idk just roll with it *hides* Shall we just get started? Indeed. TOP 15 BOOKS OF 2022: (in semi order) ♥ Every Summer After by Carley…

2022 READING AND BLOGGING RECAP // last year in review ft books read, 2023 reading challenge, even more social media stats and pie charts galore!!!

Hi hello and happy 2023 friends!!! Eeeep guess this is my first post of the year which is rare for me to be so on time with this. But we love the energy!!! I’m a tad behind on my fave books of the year post but that should be coming in the next few days, so please feast your eyes on the stats in the meantime. Let’s get to it xoxo READING OVERVIEW AND STATS I’m posting this to Instagram as well because why not? Hence my stunning graphics which I’m obsessed with so I hope you appreciate them *sighs* Me? Self-obsessed? Definitely not… Anyways, I’m happy with my 2022 reading but we’re on the third day of the year now and you’d think I’d have all the goals. But I honestly want to go with no expectations this year. I hit my reading goal of 50 books and I’m going to up it by 5 because of that, but 2023 shall remain goal-less. Speaking of reading goals, I apparently read fewer pages than my previous reading year, which is odd since I read 2 extra books??? Oh well.  2022 turned out well overall I think, but I have a…

MOST ANTICIPATED 2023 BOOK RELEASES // this list is maybe longer than it needs to be but we love a 60 book challenge oops

Oh my (second) favourite post of the year where I can endlessly add books I’ll take maybe a 100 years to actually read. Living my blissful life folks. Who knows, maybe next year will be the year I do what I say I will. Putting it out into the universe. I lowkey have a stunning list here even though it’s incredibly long so let’s get into it <3<3<3 JANUARY — – The Stolen Heir by Holly Black (3 January 2023): this title, this cover, the fact that this is a book I’M SO EXCITED!!!! Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute by Talia Hibbert (3 January 2023): I was excited about Ms Hibbert’s YA romance last year and I’m still excited now I WANT IT *sighs* French Kissing In New York by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau (3 January 2023): I saw the title and the Taylor Swift reference in the synopsis and I had to have it,,, – Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo (10 January 2023): nope I have not read book one, I’m just holding myself accountable to actually read it so I can get to the sequel, which shall happen often in this post *hides* Exes and O’s by Amy Lea (10…

HAPPY NEW YEAR AKA MY DECEMBER 2021 & JANUARY 2022 RECAP // a slightly late recap but I watched a ton of movies and read only a bit oops

Um yeah so big oops. In my head, it’s definitely not nearly the end of February when I finally post this. You can pretend with me. Combining into two months because I’m terrible and I also only read one book in January welp. You came for chaos right? I have warned you in the past,,, Let’s not waste time and just get into it! — Wait For It by Mariana Zapata {★★★★☆}: Extremely chuffed at the progress I’m making in my quest to read all of Mariana Zapata’s work. Apparently this one was my longest read of last year, which I did not notice so props to MZ for making me think her romances are short. HAVE I MENTIONED HOW MUCH I LOVE HER??? The way MZ writes romance is unlike any other and I’m constantly comparing other romances to her’s. I just,,, I’m forever sad about it. Though nothing has been able to top Lukov for me, this story was so endearing and heartwarming and I loved every page. Trigger warnings for loss of a parent/sibling. I absolutely loved how this book focused on parenting and raising kids, not in the traditional way. I loved Diana when we met…

MY FAVOURITE BOOKS OF 2021 // a whopping bizarre top 8 ft. some honourable mentions

Life is currently a mess and I really wanted to get a lot more end of year posts out this month, but alas, 2021 will just have to close on the messy path it was already on. I have no idea what I’m writing but we’re rolling with it *nervous laughter* Apologies as I did have a fun idea for a Christmas recommendations list, but I just had no motivation to get it done. You’ll have to wait until next year folks. As usual, lowkey doing this post is stressful because I leave it till the very last day of the year JUST IN CASE a new favourite needs to squeeze on here. There hasn’t been one but it’s okay, at least I’m wrapping up all the books. Related posts: Top Books of 2020 2021 Mid Year Freak Out Tag Today I have 15 books in total to talk about, 7 are honourable mentions and 8 are the top favourites. I’m chuffed with this selection, though I’ll try and keep this post short and sweet so we can zoom through them. Very excited to talk about them, so let’s get into it! HONOURABLE MENTIONS: in no particular order (maybe least…

JANUARY RECAP // hello 2021 ft. content planning & much reading

Today, you witness a miracle, my fine friends. You know why? BECAUSE THIS RECAP WAS POSTED ON TIME. I think we should all just take a second to soak it all in. And also so I can pat myself on the back. Let’s ignore that Valentines Day is in approximately two weeks. We have books to keep us company in this household. We’re definitely not alone in this household, no ma’am. I’ll stop now, let’s get into it. The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata {★★★☆☆}: You may be thinking that it’s very unfortunate that my first read of 2021 was a 3-star but in full honesty, I couldn’t care less. I 99.9% believe that it shan’t represent the rest of my reading year. I did really like this one, it’s not a bad 3-stars, more of an “I don’t have much to say”. I know this one is a fan favourite and I can tell why. From Lukov with Love is still my personal fave but this one and Dear Aaron are fighting for second place. This book is INCREDIBLY slow-burn, like so slow you might pull your hair out. Can be a good and a bad…

2020 READING AND BLOGGING RECAP // checking up on 2020 in stats and goals ft. reading challenge, progress in pie charts & new years resolutions

Hello friends, here’s me trying to get all of my end-of-year posts up on time and not post them in April. Which I DEFINITELY have never done before… *crickets chirping* I should do double *crickets chirping* because I disappeared for 2 weeks again. I explain why later in this post but IM SORRY. I’m ~trying~ to get better at not abandoning you all for weeks on end. Anyways… let us take a minute to THANK THE HEAVENS it is 2021. Even though the year has maybe not been off to the best start already lmao. And just because it’s a new year, it doesn’t mean all of our problems will magically disappear. It’s really just the number that’s changed. But STILL, you all get it. Anyways, I absolutely loved doing my mid-year goals check-in last year so here we are reflecting on 2020 as a whole. Feast your eyes on a couple of pie charts and my 2021 goals. READING STATS AND OVERVIEW So,,, unfortunately, there wasn’t really any drastic change in my reading from the last update. My reading year didn’t improve a ton, I still ended up with a very short list of favourites. I haven’t reread all…

MOST ANTICIPATED 2021 BOOK RELEASES // apologies in advance for the 60 books I added to your tbr that all sound amazing

I am manifesting that 2021 is going to be a better year for all of us. It has to be. Ruby’s manifested so it shall come true. Hi friends, today we’re kicking off with the first of a thousand end-of-year posts, of which I have quite the few planned and don’t know where I’m going to find the time to do them but oh well. I didn’t realise before doing research for this post that there are SO MANY AMAZING BOOKS COMING OUT NEXT YEAR!! It’s insane. So many of my favourite authors have books coming out and there are some stunner debuts too. Let it be a good year my friends. Anyways, without further let’s increase our insufferable tbrs and you can observe Ruby making terrible attempts at pitching books… JANUARY Lore by Alexandra Bracken (5 January 2021): The cover gods (wow fitting) really blessed us with this one. I honestly have no idea what this is about apart from the fact that it involves Greek mythology but I would sell my soul for Alexandra Bracken and that’s all that matters. Happily Ever Afters by Elise Bryant (5 January 2021): Let’s hope this book isn’t too cute for it’s…
