First off, wow did I finish that book quickly or what seeing my Schwab track record. Yeah I  know my jokes are a-m-a-z-i-n-g
If from page 1 I was already upset doesn’t tell you how much I loved this book idk what will.
But this book. WOW! It took everything to another level.
Thank heavens to Lila for rescuing Kell from White London because ya’ll don’t know how much I was screaming. My anxiety was literally through the roof. It was all just too much. And with Rhy. OH MY GAWD I COULD NOT DEAL. Alucard was freaking the heck out and my heart couldn’t take it.
I could not handle Osaron. He’s (??) such a peculiar villain?!?!? His ego is through the roof and he’s terrible but he’s just so unusual??? I applaud V.E. Schwab because she’s a genius.
When I reread this, I am going to tab it because there were so many parts I wanted to but I also wanted to take it all in. Victoria’s writing is stunning. There were so many beautiful descriptions and paragraphs and I LOVED IT.
He’s not my favourite, but I really sympathised with Holland. I thought he had a really interesting story.
Okay, the multiple POVs. I am conflicted. That’s one thing I didn’t ~love~ probably just because they were at exactly the places where something giant was happening or distracting me from my faves tbh.
I ship everyone in this damn book. I loved how Lila and Kell’s relationship developed in this book. It was so well done. There was also (I think) particular steamy moment on the ship that made me raise my eyebrows. Hmu if ya know what I’m talking about…
BUT RHY AND FREAKING ALUCARD OH MY GOD. MY SHIP. MY OTP. I ADORE THEM TO DEATHHHHH. My heart is literally contracting just because I thought about them. These two destroyed me, and I’m not over-exaggerating. It’s just so beautiful. When Rhy leaves the castle to find Luc AHHHHH. I ACTUALLY CANNOT. And the amount of love Alucard has for Rhy whenever his POV comes around AHHHH. I NEED MORE. I loved his apology scene at the end. MY HEART IS IN PIECES.
THAT ENDING. Wow. When they finally defeated Osaron, I was so thrown off at first because he went way faster than I was was expecting. I was low-key worried because I thought something even worse would happen in the remaining like 70 pages #paranoid. I also really appreciated that there were consequences to the Inheritor thing. Even though I feel bad that the magic was tainted.
