MARCH, APRIL & MAY RECAP // i’m a corporate girlie who hasn’t figured out a routine yet but hey let’s talk books!
Need to get my shiz together fr but first, we should catch up. Because a girlie has been slammed crazy busy,,,
Let’s just right in *wink wink*
—
Past Present Future by Rachel Lynn Solomon {★★★★☆}: maybe I didn’t read this at the right time or something? Because I love these characters and Rachel’s writing, but I remember next to nothing about this book? It’s also been a hot second since I read it but still? I had a great time with it, and I think it’s a really sweet sequel to a story that I love a lot but not as memorable as book one for me. Tysm to Simon & Schuster for the eARC via Netgalley, more thoughts in my GR review here xoxox
The Ex Vows by Jessica Joyce {★★★★★}: she’ll be getting her own review at some point but this book broke my heart and put me back together again and I’m still in recovery a little bit. Jessica Joyce is a star and I adore her and her writing and go read it RIGHT THIS SECOND AND WEEP WITH ME,,,,, Yelling thoughts here! Big thank you to Berkley for the eARC via Netgalley ilysm *sobs*
Your Blood, My Bones by Kelly Andrew {★★★★☆}: I had the privilege of joining the blog tour for a book I knew nothing about but gave a chance and ugh what a gem?!?!?! Going back to my YA roots with this one and I just so thoroughly enjoyed this creepy foresty angsty teen fantasy and I NEED to read the author’s other works!!! Big thanks to Colored Pages Tours for having me onboard, Scholastic for the eARC and head on over here for my IG review.
Pearl of the Sea by Anthony Silverston {★★★★☆}: FINALLY reading this graphic novel that I’ve had on my shelf for far too long and my sincerest apologies to the publisher for taking my time. But what a delight she was!!!! Tysm to Catalyst Press for the review copy and you can read more thoughts on my IG review here!!!

Kariba by James & Daniel Clarke {★★★½☆}: I decided to keep up with the momentum and kept on going with the gorg local graphic novels. Whilst I preferred the previous one a tad more, this one had such amazing LORE AND I WAS LIVING!!! Huge thanks to Catalyst for the review copy, more thoughts in this IG review < 3
Truthfully, Yours by Caden Armstrong {★★★½☆}: been meaning to read her for a hot minute and finally decided to just devour her and what a cute time! Absolutely transported to this Scottish bookstore with these two geeks and it was great. Big thanks to the author for the review copy, more thoughts in my GR review here xoxo
Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood {★★★★½}: why I thought that I wouldn’t like this book baffles me and indeed I am stupid. For some reason, the first few pages were not doing it for me and all I had to do was get one chapter in until I was obsessed? Stupid. Anyways, you’ll probably see a review from me at some point but yes she’s good and I have put in my request for a Jack at the factory’s earliest convenience. Click for more thoughts here in the meantime *sighs*
Check & Mate by Ali Hazelwood {★★★★★}: Thought I was okay until I suddenly had a heart attack and I am still in post-this-book-recovery. You can speak to me again in approximately who knows when because I have a severe book hangover. YA is just THAT girl and I’m a fool for only remembering this a few times a year and I need to make an effort to read them more. Anyways, you will CERTAINLY get a review so my lips are sealed for the meantime unless you wanna head over to GR,,, The biggest thanks to Wordsworth Books for the view copy ilysmmmmm xoxoxoxoxo
As usual, I bought lots of books and it’ll take far too much time and effort to show you here, so just go over to Instagram. There’s even fun music to listen to there. Much more entertaining if you ask me.
I will show what I was gifted though!

You know I have weird moods, right? No? Well, let me tell you that I somehow finished ALL of Grey’s Anatomy bar the few episodes that have JUST come out. So of course I literally moved on to watching Bridgerton S3 and Prison Break. What a selection amirite? You are free to psycho-analyse me,,,
They’re both great in their own right btw. I’m just a freak.
As for movies, honestly not all that many. Seen the latest cinema releases and we’re being FED if you ask me:
- Dune: Part Two
- Monkey Man
- The Boy and The Heron
- Turtles All The Way Down
- Challengers
- Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
These are all at least 4 stars and here’s your sign to go the movies RIGHT THIS SECOND.
I also watched Parachutes, which is Brittany Snow’s directorial debut and if you’re not already convinced idk what else to tell you. I was thoroughly swept off my feet and I want EVERYBODY to watch.
Also, you’ll see some Ghibli on my Letterboxd for the obvious above reasons hehe. I watched Whisper of The Heart which I wanted to like more, BUT then I also saw The Wind Rises which was brilliant.
My friends also finally made me watch Chicago for the first time which was playing at the cinema and I need to watch more musicals ASAP!
Great watching all around if you ask me *sighs*
In terms of the internship, all’s going well. I’m still in the learning stages and am shifting around roles but I think it’s going well? I just love getting to work with books so I’m not complaining. Not much else has been going on really. I don’t quite have my schedule figured out yet, which is something I’m still working on.
I have been doing some private tutoring which may or may not be interesting to you. As well as some exciting paid promotions which I’m thrilled to be doing.
I haven’t been seeing my therapist as regularly as I should but my mental health has been manageable. So I guess I’m all good mostly. How are you all? Please let’s catch up!!!
