CREATING A POWERFUL BRAND FOR YOUR BLOG // guest post by Amy from A Magical World of Words

Hello. This is my version of actually posting consistently when I have no time. Haha no I’m just kidding. Anyways, this is the first time I’ve ever had someone guest post here on my blog and I’m super happy it was Amy. She’s the first local book blogger I found, and we’ve been friends for a while and is always there to listen to my rants and answer any questions I have. So I hope you love her post, I certainly do and a GIANT thank you to Amy for putting this together < 3 Check out her links below BLOG ~ INSTAGRAM ~ TWITTER ~ FACEBOOK How To Create A Powerful Brand For Your Blog Today I’m excited to be sharing with you some tips on how – and why – to create a brand for your blog! A THOUSAND PERFECT NOTES // author interview with C.G. Drews ft. mini book review

I’m literally the worst person I know please don’t kill me for disappearing again. Okay now that that’s out of the way. I actually finally read this book and IT WAS GLORIOUS. And I may or may not have begged Cait to answer some of my weird-ass questions and she kindly obliged. Now granted I read this book like 3 weeks ago so the review will be short but hopefully the glory of Cait will make up for that. Anyways, without further ado, let’s get into it. First of all, let me tell ya a teensy weensy bit about Cait. She runs the blog Paper Fury which you all probably know. And she wrote a book last year called A Thousand Perfect Notes. Title: A Thousand Perfect Notes Author: C.G. Drews Page count: 282 Date published: 7 June 2018 Genre: Young Adult contemporary Thank you to Pan MacMillan SA for sending a copy my way! Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) GOODREADS SYNOPSIS Beck hates his life. He hates his violent mother. He hates his home. Most of all, he hates the piano that his mother forces him to play hour after hour, day after day. He will never play…

TOP 8 BOOKS OF 2018 // ft. 2019 new years resolutions

Yeah, I can’t fathom that the year is already over but what else can you do?? To be honest, I would have liked to have read WAY MORE than I did, I mean I passed my goal and all (and read some great books) but still. I’ll get to my goals for 2019 in a minute. I read 36 books this year which I’m satisfied with but next year is definitely the time for MORE. Anyways, I have 8 books to talk about and a couple honourable mentions so let’s just get into them, in no real particular order but some I I enjoyed more than others if that makes sense. Also, most of these aren’t 2018 releases, I only read them this year but who actually cares? H O N O U R A B L E    M E N T I O N S The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli I really loved this book. I adore Becky Albertalli and related to the main character, Molly, SO much. I loved being back in the Simon-verse and the romance was so cute. It was just such a great read   Renegades by Marissa Meyer WOW. This is…

PREDICTING 5 STAR READS // books I think I'll love, adore & devour

Is my TBR pile huge? Yes. Do I buy more books anyway? Yes. I have made a rule for myself to only get books I think I’ll love and I have so many of them right now. I’ve seen this post go around and it seems super fun, so let’s just do it. LORD OF SHADOWS by Cassandra Clare Yes, this is my most shamed. I WILL READ IT. I am scared so I’ve been putting it off but I promise it will happen soon. If you haven’t read the Shadowhunter Chronicles then I honestly don’t know what you’re doing with your life.     STRANGE THE DREAMER by Laini Taylor Omg, I have NOTHING but amazing things. I don’t exactly know what it’s about apart from a librarian and a lost city. I hear it’s magical and wonderful and I NEED IT NOW       DAUGHTER OF THE BURNING CITY & ACE OF SHADES by Amanda Foody    These books have been getting rave reviews and I just need to know. I still need to get a copy of Ace of Shades but I do have Daughter and am hoping to get to it soon.      …

ONE YEAR BLOGIVERSARY // fave books, Q&A, shoutouts + a survey

This feels so unreal and it honestly doesn’t feel like I started this smol blog an entire year ago. I love and appreciate and love each and every one of you. I love talking to everyone and I’ve made some amazing friends (and met them). I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences on my blogging journey and I’ve had the best time and learnt so much. Anyways I won’t bore you with my soppy stories, so let’s just get on with the interesting stuff… So I thought it’d be fun to get some feedback about my blog in general so I made a survey and I’d very much appreciate all the feedback especially things I can improve on (i won’t scream at you if you give negative feedback so please feel free to do it if you wish) so click on the link below to answer —> BLOG SURVEY <— So I’m a little sentimental today so I’m kind of re-doing my first posts. My first ever blog post was MY FAVOURITE SERIES OF ALL TIME but don’t go look at it because 1) it’s cringey and 2) has no substance and is hecka boring. Part 1 (fantasy series) 1) HARRY…

TROPES THAT I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF (part 2)

So a while back I did TROPES THAT SHOULD REALLY JUST LEAVE FOREVER and I wanted to do a “tropes that I love” post. I don’t hate all tropes actually… who would’ve thought? THE “I LOVE YOU BUT CAN’T/WON’T ADMIT IT” OR “SLOW-BURN” TROPE This may be a little annoying at times just because you want it to happen but it’s just not. It also usually takes the entire series to happen but like I love it? Yeah, I’m TRASH for romance. And also a crazy person. But like I can’t resist… THE “CHOSEN ONE SAVES THE WORLD” TROPE With this it kind of depends. Back when I started reading I loved it but now it really depends on the story and setting. The most common being Harry Potter and Percy Jackson which ya’ll know I love. If it’s done really well and in a unique way then it’s awesome. THE “SWEET, KIND AND ADORABLE MALE LOVE INTEREST” TROPE Bad boys annoy me but I also love quite a few. I cannot help but fall for the sweet ones though. I mean how can you not?! Need I say more? THE “OPPOSITE ATTRACTS FRIENDSHIP” TROPE I love me some romance but well-done…

KICKASS FEMALES IN BOOKS // all-time faves ft. me hardcore fangirling

I am a day late, but I had some studying to do and I’m here now… anyways Happy International Women’s Day! This post is going to be dedicated to some awesome women characters that inspire me and just kick ass in general Hermione Granger I mean how could I not mention my QUEEN. She’s like my role model. But honestly, she is one of the most iconic female heroines and for a good reason. Hermione stands up for her friends, she’s strong and very intelligent. She loves reading #relateable. She even started an organisation to help house elves, I mean… Isobelle Lightwood Izzy just slays everyone, okay! Honestly, she’s amazing. I just read City of Bones again and I have this newfound love for her. She’s such a strong and confident character and I love her so much! Katniss Everdeen I mean, come on…Katniss is such a brave person omg! I honestly cannot fathom how she did it honestly. She’s such a brave person and I applaud her. She stood up for what she believed in and she’s such an important YA character Nina Zenik A recent fave but also such an inspirational character omg. She’s just such a strong…

WHY I LOVE RELATIONSHIPS // faves, friendships & more

So uh it’s Valentine’s Day which may to some people be 1) the best day 2) a reminder that you’re single or 3) overrated and a cliché* *that was my subtle way of trying to understand romance Anyways, what better way to talk about relationships?? And I don’t just mean like couples because I FREAKING LOVE AWESOME FRIENDSHIPS too! Also, I did a kind of similar post a while back so click here for that but it may be a little cringey since foetus me wrote it. SOME FAVOURITE SHIPS Omgg if you didn’t know by now well, I freaking love Jace Herondale so I of course ship Clace even though I wish I could have Jace for myself. KAZ AND INEJ! KAZ AND INEJ! KAZ AND INEJ! Ahhhhhhh!!! I recently read these and I’m obsessed!!! Blue and Gansey make me smile and my heart smiles along with them. They’re ADORABLE You CANNOT make me choose between Jem and Will so I’m just going to say I ships Herongraystairs (that’s their ship name btw)* Omg Percy and Annabeth are so unbelievably adorable! I just can’t deal Umm I love Friends and Chandler so, him and Monica give me LIFE They are too…

TYPES OF READING SLUMPS THAT WE BOOKWORMS HAVE TO SUFFER

Okayyy so I’m in a bit of a slump and what better blog post then this? Let’s just get right into the kinds od terrors we all have to survive in the book world. Also, I feel like before we all joined this community, as wonderful as it is, slumps never existed back then but now… #thestruggleisreal THE “NOTHING IS LIVING UP TO THIS BOOK” SLUMP This is the slump that happens when you’ve read an amazing book and now you have no idea what you want to read and struggle to pick up another book because it doesn’t feel like this amazing book you’ve just read. This happens to me quite a lot because I basically love all books and then I never know what to read. THE “TOO BUSY TO READ” SLUMP This happens quite often I think. You get busy at school (or work) and don’t read for 3 weeks and then suddenly you have LOADS of time and don’t want to read. It really sucks because it’s nobody’s fault and the books are crying for help and we have to be evil and tell them we can’t help them. Poor books. They don’t deserve this. THE…
