THE BOY WHO STEALS HOUSES BY C.G. DREWS // warning: this book wrecked me!!

Welcome to yet another extremely late review because I’m a terrible blogger. I adored this book. But what did I not do? Flipping review it that’s what. I swear this is going to change. But I’m sitting in a pickle because I have a terrible memory and don’t remember enough about the book. But I wanted to do this review so excuse this mess of a post. This is my brand now. My legacy. And all entirely my own fault. But without further rambling, let us just pop into this disaster of a review/discussion. Still figuring out if I want to call these reviews because idk if they can be considered reviews. Anywayssss. Title: The Boy Who Steals Houses Author: C.G. Drews Page count: 347 Date published: 4 April 2019 Genre: Young Adult contemporary ♥ Synopsis: Can two broken boys find their perfect home? Sam is only fifteen but he and his autistic older brother, Avery, have been abandoned by every relative he’s ever known. Now Sam’s trying to build a new life for them. NOVEMBER RECAP // i turned 18, new anticipated releases, audiobooks, blog redesign & finishing high school

For a change, this post is actually going up on time? I don’t know how am I either tbh. I didn’t read many books in November, which I’ll get into later. But I did get some awesome books. I mentioned that I’m going to start incorporating book mail into my recaps. I, unfortunately, haven’t managed to get my “last” book haul up yet. It’s taking a lot of work. So it’ll be coming soon after this post. But it is coming (ICYMI it’s just a very late haul of books from March to end of October) But um yeah there isn’t much else to say in this into so let us just chat about what happened in November. Geekerella by Ashley Poston {★★★½☆}: this was a reread for me because I thought I might like it even more (ignore my 2017-self’s 4-star review who couldn’t rate back then). I landed up flying through this one on a free dat and I had such a fun time. The only word I can use to describe this book is cute and that I liked it. It wasn’t perfect, I didn’t buy the actual story a lot of the time. I loved the…

I BINGED THE ILLUMINAE FILES SERIES // illuminae (book one): this book destroyed me… send help!

Yes, I do realise that I read this trilogy back in March and I am only NOW doing this review. I am a terrible person. But oh well. Better late than never amirite?! Anyways, I binged this series while I was away on holiday and as you can tell by the title: THEY DESTROYED ME! And of course, such emotions need their own entire blog post. This review may be a mess when are they ever not one though because I read them so long ago. And also I’m going to try not to spoil future books since I did binge these books back to back. I don’t think I did but do proceed with caution. Also, this was originally like an entire series review but it landed up being like 3k+ words long so they’ve been split. And I’ve decided to do a thing where I post the reviews one after the other. Fun huh. So yeah you can stay tuned for reviews of the following two books If you’re reading it the day it’s been published, these posts won’t be live yet but if not, you can click here for my other reviews of this series < 3…

OCTOBER RECAP // new fave book, spooky series binge & mental health

I’m really terrible at sticking to a schedule people. I’m meant to be FREE and I just can’t do it. I said I’d try and post every 2 weeks during exams but whelp that didn’t happen. I kept leaving it to Sunday and then I just couldn’t get around to finishing the dang post. The cycle continued so this is why you’re only getting a post now. Anyways, I don’t want this post to go up too late so I’m trying to stay ahead of the game and post it now. I also want to start doing book hauls in monthly recaps so that’ll start happening in next month’s one. I have a giant one coming up because my last one was back in like March, but afterwards, I’m going to do ’em in recaps. If you even cared… Should I stop rambling and just get into what happened last month? I think that’s a good idea! Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco {★★★★☆}: hskjkjs this SERIES! I’d just finished the first book last month (i.e. September) so I decided to jump right into the sequel. And I enjoyed it a lot more. I will say I think I rated…

CURRENT FAVOURITES // what i’ve been loving lately ft. music, apps, youtube and movies!

Hi yes, this is a random post but I felt like doing it so here we are. And I just broke my upload schedule because I legit just said you’d have to wait two weeks. I just came up with this post and wanted to post it so I guess here you go?? I truly don’t know what this is but I’ve seen some other friends do it and I just had some things I wanted to talk about that aren’t bookish related, well maybe a little, but ANYWAY. Let us just get into this very odd and VERY spontaneous post… m u s i c ♥ Sam Phillips Do these songs sound familiar to you? Because yes it is indeed the music from Gilmore Girls (which we will get into later as well). So I’ve specifically been loving the A Boot and A Shoe album but I also love a few of her other songs. I’m just in the BIGGEST early 2000s deep vocals, and guitar mood?? And she’s hit the notch with this album. But it’s only 36 minutes and I take personal offence to this because IT IS NOT ENOUGH EXCUSE ME?! All her songs are so…

We loved this book! My heart is in a puddle. It was stunning, amazing, beautiful and every other adjective you can give it. I also did a REVIEW WHAT?!? A whole ass blog post review?? I’m particularly proud of it too. It’s basically just me squawking like a bird about this book for an absurd amount of time. Check it out here <3 ♥ Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker & Wendy Xu {★★★★☆}: I read an e-ARC of this graphic novel just recently and wow what a fun book!
