ONE YEAR BLOGIVERSARY // fave books, Q&A, shoutouts + a survey
This feels so unreal and it honestly doesn’t feel like I started this smol blog an entire year ago. I love and appreciate and love each and every one of you. I love talking to everyone and I’ve made some amazing friends (and met them). I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences on my blogging journey and I’ve had the best time and learnt so much. Anyways I won’t bore you with my soppy stories, so let’s just get on with the interesting stuff… So I thought it’d be fun to get some feedback about my blog in general so I made a survey and I’d very much appreciate all the feedback especially things I can improve on (i won’t scream at you if you give negative feedback so please feel free to do it if you wish) so click on the link below to answer —> BLOG SURVEY <— So I’m a little sentimental today so I’m kind of re-doing my first posts. My first ever blog post was MY FAVOURITE SERIES OF ALL TIME but don’t go look at it because 1) it’s cringey and 2) has no substance and is hecka boring. Part 1 (fantasy series) 1) HARRY…

HOGWARTS HOUSE BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS
I’ve been seeing these posts going around and I thought it’d be fun to compile my own list of books to recommend. But basically, I’m just going to pick out a few books that I think fit the specific traits of the different Hogwarts houses. On a sidenote, I can’t really recommend Harry Potter but obviously, if you haven’t read them yet then I don’t know what you’re doing. Let’s just get into all the books Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan: The entire Percy Jackson is awesome and amazing. I think it suits this house because all the characters are so loyal (and also brave). You’d honestly just have the best time reading these! Eliza & Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia: I don’t know why but I just feel like this book fits here. It’s such an amazing (and important) contemporary… it may even be my favourite book, apart from my fantasies. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare: All of Cassie’s books have loyal character but this masterpiece stands out to me. It’ll break your heart in the best way but it’s SO GOOD omg (!!). GO AND READ THE SHADOWHUNTER CHRONICLES NOWWWW The…

MINI MOVIE REVIEWS // Death Cure, Peter Pan, new fave & more
So I’m back again with some movie reviews! I hope you like these. Also I’m horrible at keeping track of what I watch so I created a thread of movies (and some tv) on twitter that I watch and I try to make aesthetics (but it’s hard) and they’re not great but I TRY. Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle So I have kind of mixed feelings with this one. I heard people say that it was really good but I disagree. I think it was decent but it didn’t feel like Jumangi. It was a little (in my opinion) cheesy and was more like a jungle game not like the original. With the original, you knew it was dangeroud and you felt that but I didn’t get that with this movie. Anyways I was really disappointed. Rip Tide I was browsing Netflix because I didn’t know what I wanted to watch. I saw Debbie Ryan and I thought ‘why not?’. Now I didn’t hate this movie, it wasn’t mind-blowing but I thought it was okay. I liked the plot line. The story was a bit off at times and I had no care in the romance but it wasn’t at…

TROPES THAT I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF (part 2)
So a while back I did TROPES THAT SHOULD REALLY JUST LEAVE FOREVER and I wanted to do a “tropes that I love” post. I don’t hate all tropes actually… who would’ve thought? THE “I LOVE YOU BUT CAN’T/WON’T ADMIT IT” OR “SLOW-BURN” TROPE This may be a little annoying at times just because you want it to happen but it’s just not. It also usually takes the entire series to happen but like I love it? Yeah, I’m TRASH for romance. And also a crazy person. But like I can’t resist… THE “CHOSEN ONE SAVES THE WORLD” TROPE With this it kind of depends. Back when I started reading I loved it but now it really depends on the story and setting. The most common being Harry Potter and Percy Jackson which ya’ll know I love. If it’s done really well and in a unique way then it’s awesome. THE “SWEET, KIND AND ADORABLE MALE LOVE INTEREST” TROPE Bad boys annoy me but I also love quite a few. I cannot help but fall for the sweet ones though. I mean how can you not?! Need I say more? THE “OPPOSITE ATTRACTS FRIENDSHIP” TROPE I love me some romance but well-done…

MARCH RECAP // studying, holidays & binge reading
Where did March go? This year is going too fast! This month has been good. As you can see by the title, I did lots of studying and my grades were wayyyyy better than I expected. Like REALLY good and I’m proud of myself. We’re also on Easter break and I’ve been reading a heck load and bombarding ya’ll with reviews. Okay, I read 5 books and 3 novellas (!!). And Goodreads tells me I’m 5 books ahead of schedule. Don’t ask me how I read more in one month when I also had to study how I read more than Jan & Feb combined. None of the books I read have a rating lower than 4 stars so I consider this a very successful month. – Opal by Maggie Stiefvater {★★★★★}: SO. GOOD. I am starved of this world and I need more. A novella isn’t enough!! (review here) – City of Bones by Cassandra Clare {★★★★★}: Of course it was amazing and I will forever gush and be nostalgic about this series. I read it with Lu which was also really fun (review here) – Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi {★★★★☆}: As you can see I binged these…

The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world . . . but that’s not all he wants with her. I am shook right now. I just marathoned these books and now the “trilogy” (I know there is one more book) and have NO idea what to do with my life now. I, of course, loved it as you can see by my rating. It was so good and fast-paced. Everything that needed to happen did and it was a great conclusion. The development in this book and the truths we learn are phenomenal and I loved it so much! Kenji has become…
